Samaa Wakim 
Performing artist, Actress & Choreographer

Palestinian artist from Mi’ilya village in the Galilee, with a degree in Theater from Haifa University. A member of Yaa Samar! Dance Theater (YSDT) and Khashabi Theater, Wakim is currently focused on original creations and is touring with Losing It, a collaborative dance-theater piece co-created with Samar Haddad King, produced by Theaterformen Festival, Khashabi Theater, and YSDT.

Performance and Collaboration Highlights
Wakim has participated in various significant local and international productions, including:

• I am Yusuf and This is My Brother (2009), a co-production by the Palestinian theater group Shiber Hur and the Young Vic Theatre in London.

• The Beloved (2012), a collaboration between Shiber Hur and the Bush Theatre in London.

• Exit, with the Khashabi Ensemble in Palestine.

• Blebleble (2012), produced by Al Midan Theater, Haifa.

• Badke, a co-production with KVS, les ballets C de la B, and the A.M. Qattan Foundation, directed by Koen Augustijnen, Rosalba Torres, and Hildegard De Vuyst.

• Bound, Against a Hard Surface, The Last Ward with Yaa Samar! Dance Theater (YSDT).

• The Cabaret, directed by Bashar Murkus at Khashabi Theater.

• Modern Curses, co-created with Bashar Murkus and produced by Khashabi Theater.

• Milk, produced by Khashabi Theater and presented at Anignion Festival.

Workshops and Activism
In addition to performing, Wakim leads workshops locally and internationally, blending dance, theater, and traditional and political elements. Beyond being a multidisciplinary artist, Wakim identifies as a cultural and political activist.
